My name is Evan Hussey. I am a New York City based singer, dancer, and actor.
I spent the first 18 years of my life in the South, spending most of my childhood growing up in a northern suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, surrounded by peaches, Waffle House, and sweltering heat. In the third grade, I made my theatrical debut, playing an elephant and The Color Green in Children of Eden, and was immediately addicted to the spotlight. I continued my stage career in middle school where I played my most iconic role to date—a blade of grass in Seussical. I was encouraged to continue theatre in high school where I performed in 13 productions, including works written by Stephen Schwartz, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and even Edward Albee. My high school allowed me to develop a deep love for the performing arts, offering classes in acting, dance, and an entire class dedicated to rehearsing and performing a full production.
In 2015, I moved to New York City to study Musical Theatre at Marymount Manhattan College. At MMC, I was able to expand my skills as a singer and actor as well as develop my passion for musical theatre dance. Marymount allowed me to play a wide range of characters on stage, from an electric train to a dancing waiter. I officially graduated from MMC in May of 2019, and I can’t wait to see what my future holds as a performer!
Aside from theatre, you can probably find me watching The Office (or any Ryan Murphy show), petting and/or hugging every dog I see on the street, chugging iced coffee (yes even in the winter), or hunting for the cheapest ice cream in Manhattan.
